In 1206, Genghis Khan united the various nomadic tribes of
Northeast Asia and set in motion a rapid takeover of land that became the
largest contiguous empire in history, stretching from the Pacific Ocean to
Eastern Europe. This series will explore the rise, conquest, and fall of the
Mongol empire and its leaders, as well as its cross-cultural impact on other
civilizations. Readers will learn about what made the Mongols unique in their
period, including their nomadic lifestyle and military tactics, and how this
allowed them to maintain control across wide
territories.
